Fancymoji is a free English kaomoji library, and contact@fancymoji.com is the one address behind it. Write to us about a face that will not paste on TikTok, Discord or Instagram, a correction, a removal request or a copyright claim. We read every message and aim to reply within three business days.
Email us directly
Email is the only contact channel for Fancymoji, and it is deliberate: a written thread keeps a record of what was asked and what we changed, which a chat widget does not. There is no phone line and no postal desk. The address is contact@fancymoji.com.
These links open your mail app with the subject already filled in, so your message lands in the right pile:
- A kaomoji will not paste or shows as squares
- A correction to something we published

- A face you think the library is missing
If your mail app does not open, copy the address by hand — it is a normal mailbox, not a form gateway.
A face is showing up as empty squares
This is the most common thing people write to us about, and in most cases nothing is broken. A kaomoji is plain Unicode text, not a picture, so what you copied left this site intact. Empty rectangles mean the app or device you pasted into has no font covering those particular characters, and it draws a placeholder box instead.
Two minutes of checking will tell you which case you have, and it saves an email:
- Paste the same face somewhere else — a notes app, the address bar, a different browser. If it renders there, the characters are fine and the first app is the one missing the font.
- Try it on a second device if you have one. Older phones and older desktop operating systems drop rarer Japanese and symbol characters more often than current ones.
- If it fails everywhere, that is worth reporting, because it may point at something we can fix on our side.
When you do write in, send the face itself pasted into the email body, the device and operating system version, the browser or app you pasted into, and a screenshot. Without the screenshot we are guessing at what your screen actually shows.
Corrections and content removal
Every face in the library carries a meaning and a “when to use” note, and those are editorial judgements — they can be wrong, dated, or too narrow. If we have described a face in a way that does not match how people actually use it, tell us and point at the page. Corrections that hold up get made, and we would rather fix a description than defend it.
For a removal request, name the exact page URL and the exact passage, image or entry you want taken down, and say why. We handle removals case by case and answer either way, including when the answer is no.
Copyright and attribution claims
Kaomoji themselves cannot be owned. They are sequences of public Unicode characters — the same code points anyone can type — and the Unicode Standard published by the Unicode Consortium is public. Nobody holds a copyright on a face made of brackets and punctuation, and we make no such claim ourselves.
What can be owned is everything built around them: written descriptions, curated groupings, images and page layouts. If you believe material of yours appears on Fancymoji without permission, email contact@fancymoji.com with the subject “Copyright claim” and include:
- the work you own, described clearly enough to identify it;
- the exact URL on this site where it appears;
- how we can verify you hold the rights, or represent whoever does;
- a working email or phone number we can reply to;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised.
Valid claims are acted on. We will also say so if we think the material is not in fact yours, rather than quietly ignoring the mail.
What we cannot help with
Fancymoji is a text library. It is not a support desk for the platforms people paste faces into, and being straight about that saves everyone a wasted email:
- Accounts on other platforms. We cannot recover, unban, verify or rename an account on TikTok, Discord, Instagram, X or anywhere else. We have no relationship with any of them.
- Usernames that refuse special characters. On TikTok the username field accepts only letters, numbers, underscores and full stops — a kaomoji will not go in, and no site can change that. The display name is a separate field and does accept them. If a face is being rejected, check which of the two you are editing.
- Installing fonts on your device. We cannot add a missing font to your phone remotely.
- Custom artwork. We publish existing public characters; we do not take commissions.
Who runs Fancymoji
Fancymoji is an independently run website published by the Fancymoji editorial team, which curates the library, writes the meaning notes and answers this mailbox. The whole catalogue is browsable from Fancymoji, and longer write-ups live in the journal.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Sanrio, any Japanese brand, or any social platform. Kaomoji are public Unicode characters rather than a custom font we sell or license, and the site is free to use with no account.

One person reads this mailbox, so a message with the details already in it gets a real answer instead of a request for more information. The targets below are what we aim for, counted in business days from when the mail arrives.

Why did my kaomoji turn into empty squares after I pasted it?
Because the app you pasted into has no font covering those characters, so it draws placeholder boxes. The text you copied is intact. Paste the same face into a notes app or another browser to confirm, then report it with your device, OS version and a screenshot.
Can you help me put a kaomoji in my TikTok username?

What happens to my email address after I write in?
It is used to reply to you and nothing else. Fancymoji does not run a newsletter, does not add senders to a mailing list and does not pass addresses on. Copying a face on the site collects no personal data at all.
