Privacy Policy
Fancymoji is a free kaomoji library that needs no account, and as of 28 July 2026 it sets no cookies, runs no analytics and shows no ads. The faces you copy and save stay in your own browser. This page sets out exactly what does and does not leave your device.
The short answer
Fancymoji holds no personal data about its visitors. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join, no comment box, no upload form and no submission of any kind — so there is nothing for us to store about you. The library is a set of public Unicode characters served as ordinary web pages.
Three things are worth spelling out, because “we collect nothing” is a claim that deserves detail rather than a slogan: what your browser keeps locally, the single request that goes to a third party, and the ordinary server records every website produces. Each has its own section below.
What stays in your browser
The counter in the header, the “most adopted today” board and your saved faces are all built from data that never leaves your device. Fancymoji writes them to your browser’s local storage, which is a private store belonging to your browser — it is not a cookie, it is not attached to requests, and it is not readable by us or by anyone else.

You can wipe all of it at any time by clearing site data for fancymoji.com in your browser settings, and the site will carry on working — the counter simply starts again at zero. Browsing in private or incognito mode discards it when you close the window. If your browser blocks local storage entirely, every page still works; only the counters and the saved list go away.
Cookies
Fancymoji sets no cookies. You can verify this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools on any page of this site, look under Storage or Application, and the cookie list for fancymoji.com will be empty. Because there are no cookies to consent to, there is no cookie banner either.
One exception is outside our control. The site is served through Cloudflare, and Cloudflare may set its own short-lived security cookie to tell human visitors from automated traffic during an attack. That cookie is Cloudflare’s, is used for security rather than tracking, and is described in Cloudflare’s own documentation.
What happens when you use the search box
When you type a feeling into the search box on the home page, the text you typed is sent to an address on this site — not to anyone else — and it is sent with cookies explicitly switched off. Our server then looks the term up against a wider collection of faces and returns the matches.
The detail that matters for your privacy is where that lookup happens. The wider collection is a third-party service, but your browser never contacts it. Our server makes that request on your behalf, so the outside service sees our server, not your IP address, your browser or anything else about you. Results are cached on our server for twelve hours, which means most searches never leave our machine at all.
We do not keep a record of what individual visitors search for. The search term is used to answer the request and to key the cache; there is no search history, and nothing ties a query back to a person.
Google Fonts, the one third party
Fancymoji loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, and this is the only third party your browser is asked to contact while using the site. It is here for a practical reason: kaomoji use rare Japanese and symbol characters, and the Noto font families are what keep those characters from turning into empty squares on devices that lack them.
When your browser fetches those fonts, Google receives your IP address, your user agent and the fact that a font was requested from a page on this site. Google states that it does not use these requests to build advertising profiles, but the request is real and you should know it happens. Blocking it — with a content blocker, or by disabling remote fonts — leaves the site fully usable, though some rarer faces may render as boxes on devices without their own coverage.
Server logs and Cloudflare
Like every web server, ours writes an access log. Each line records the IP address that made the request, the date and time, the page or file requested, the response status and size, the referring page if the browser sent one, and the browser’s user agent string. This is the standard record a server keeps in order to stay up and to investigate abuse; it is not analytics and it is not read to profile anyone.
These logs are rotated every day and ten rotations are kept, so a given day’s records are deleted after roughly ten days. Nothing is exported from them, and they are not combined with any other source.
Traffic also passes through Cloudflare before it reaches our server, so Cloudflare processes the same connection data as part of delivering and protecting the site, under its own terms. Because Cloudflare operates a global network, a request may be handled at a location outside your own country.
Email you send us
If you write to contact@fancymoji.com — to report a face that will not paste, to ask for a correction, or to make a copyright claim — we hold your email address and whatever you put in the message, for the single purpose of answering you. Details of how to reach us, and what to include, are on the contact page.
Correspondence is kept for twelve months and then deleted. Your address is never added to a mailing list, never used to send anything you did not ask for, and never passed to anyone else. If you would like your message deleted sooner, say so in the message and we will remove it once the matter is closed.
Advertising and analytics
As of 28 July 2026 Fancymoji runs no advertising and no analytics of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising network, no social media pixel and no heat-mapping script. Nothing on the site measures you, and we hold no visitor statistics beyond the raw server log described above.
We intend to introduce advertising through Google AdSense at some point. It is not running today, and no advertising cookie is set today. Before the first ad appears, this page will be updated to describe exactly what the advertising provider collects, the date of the change will be shown at the top, and visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom will be asked for consent before any advertising cookie is placed. If you are reading this sentence, advertising has not started.
Children
Fancymoji is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because the site collects none in the first place — there is no registration, no profile and no way for a visitor to submit information about themselves.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has somehow sent us personal information by email, write to contact@fancymoji.com and we will delete it.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the right to access the personal data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy of it. If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale.
Here is the honest position on those rights. For an ordinary visit there is nothing to act on, because we hold nothing that identifies you: no account, no cookie, no profile, no analytics record. Fancymoji does not sell or share personal information, and never has. The one case where a request is meaningful is email correspondence — if you have written to us, you can ask us to show you or delete that thread, and we will.
The lawful basis for keeping short-lived server logs is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, working website. To exercise any right, or to complain about how we have handled something, email contact@fancymoji.com. If you are in the EEA or the UK and are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
This policy describes how Fancymoji actually behaves today rather than how a template says a website might behave, so it will be rewritten whenever the site changes — in particular before advertising or analytics are introduced. The revision date at the top and bottom of this page is the real date of the last substantive change, and it is not refreshed for cosmetic edits.
