This page is about the limits of what Fancymoji can promise. The terms of use cover what you may do with the site; this one covers the opposite direction — the things that depend on your device, on a platform we do not control, or on a rule that changed after we last checked.

General information, not advice
Everything on Fancymoji is published as general information about text characters. It is written carefully and checked before it goes up, but it is not professional advice of any kind, and no page here forms an agreement that a particular result will happen for you.
Where a page states something testable — that a character is part of Unicode, that a field accepts or rejects certain characters — it reflects what we observed when we checked it. Where a page describes what tends to work, that is experience rather than a rule, and it is written as such.
Why a face may look different on your screen
This is the single biggest limit on anything we can promise, and it is worth understanding rather than treating as a fault.
A kaomoji is text. Your device draws that text using whichever font it has for those characters. If a character is not covered by any installed font, the device shows an empty box instead of giving up — that box is your font coverage speaking, not a broken character and not a mistake on this page. The identical face may appear flawless on a phone and be full of boxes on an older desktop.
Because that coverage differs on every device, we cannot promise a face will look the same for you as it does in our screenshots, or the same for the person you send it to. When a face is known to be fragile, we say so on its page.
Platform rules change without notice
Which characters a site accepts is decided by that site, and it changes. A name field that took decorated text last year may reject it after an update, and a limit counted in characters may start being counted differently.
Pages that describe such behaviour carry the date we checked. After that date, treat it as a starting point rather than a current fact. We re-check the widely used ones periodically, but we are not notified when a platform changes its mind, and there is always a window in which a page here is behind reality.
Nothing here is a guarantee about your account
Fancymoji is not affiliated with any social network, messaging service, game or app store, and has no influence over how any of them enforce their rules. Product names are mentioned only to describe where characters do and do not work.
Using unusual characters in a display name is ordinary and permitted in many places, but each platform sets its own terms — including rules about impersonation and readable names — and those terms govern, not this site. We cannot promise that a name will be accepted, will remain accepted, or will not attract moderation. Decisions about your account are between you and that platform.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to outside sources, such as reference works or a platform’s own help documentation, so that a claim can be traced. Those pages are not under our control and may change or disappear after we link to them. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content of any site we point to.
Availability of the site
We try to keep Fancymoji reachable and correct, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of error. Maintenance, hosting problems and network failures all happen. If something is broken, the fastest route to a fix is the contact page.
Frequently asked questions
A face I copied here shows as boxes to my friend. Is it broken?
Almost certainly not. Their device is missing a font for one of the characters. The text arrived intact — it just cannot be drawn there.
My name was rejected after I used a character from this site.
That is the platform’s rule, and it may have changed since the page was written. Please tell us which field rejected it so the page can be corrected.
Do you promise the faces are safe to use anywhere?
No. We can tell you what a character is and where we saw it work. Whether a given field or community accepts it is up to that platform.
Where are the other policies?
Data handling is in the privacy policy, browser storage in the cookies page, and how the library is checked in the editorial policy. The library itself is on Fancymoji.
